People immersed in cannabis culture should know what “moon rocks” are. Plus, now that it’s common for hemp vendors to sell this highly-concentrated product, CBD fans are learning about it. While CBD hemp moon rocks look and taste similar to marijuana moon rocks, the two products have wildly different effects.Just because CBD moon rocks aren’t as psychoactive as traditional weed doesn’t mean customers shouldn’t take care when trying this product. Activity Digs Xiu Xiu

Activity Digs Xiu Xiu: Travis Johnson of Brooklyn-based group Activity told us about his Xiu Xiu experience.Travis Johnson: The best show I’ve seen happened just a few months ago: Xiu Xiu at Le Poisson Rouge in New York. There was nothing particularly rare or grand about it. It was just “a show.” But it was very special to me.Xiu Xiu was the sound of college and my early 20s, Jamie Stewart’s voice would often be stuck in my head all day, working whatever odd temp job, and I hadn’t seen them play live since then. They occupied the same space for my wife, so she got tickets. Neither of us were in our early 20s anymore and so to a large extent Xiu Xiu was a nostalgic thing for us (even though I still listened to and enjoyed the newer releases). All this to say, I didn’t expect to be as blown away by the show as I was. There was nostalgia, and it was wonderful, for sure. I loved seeing people embracing during “Fabulous Muscles,” or hearing everyone cheer at the kick pattern announcing “A...

Details emerge around alleged auto murder in Vallejo

Published Tue, 04 Mar 2025 08:26:24 GMT

A Vallejo murder suspect reportedly killed a man with her car following an argument in June, Wednesday testimony revealed.About 25 members of the public silently filled the gallery in Courtroom 101 of the Solano Justice Building to witness 22-year-old Kalece Farr’s preliminary examination. Farr’s head bounced up and down slightly as she rested a cheek on her fist at the hearing to determine whether there is enough evidence for the case to go to trial.Clarence Corbin, a brother of the victim, Arthur Corbin, fought back sobs while attempting to answer Assistant District Attorney Mark Ornellas’ questions about what happened the afternoon of June 3.“I was asleep. I woke up,” Clarence Corbin said softly, recalling that Farr and his brother had gotten into an argument just before the incident. He claimed he’d previously seen Farr threaten his brother with a pair of scissors, although the defense claimed in that incident Arthur Corbin had attacked Farr first.Related ArticlesCalifornia News ...

Readers confounded by chaos at roundabouts, school drop-off: Roadshow

Published Tue, 04 Mar 2025 08:26:24 GMT

Q: I agree the roundabouts are brilliant — as long as people use them correctly. Here is a puzzler for you:In the Burbank area of San Jose, I encounter a roundabout at Leland and Basile. From northbound Leland, I enter to make a left turn onto westbound Basile. I think that cars going straight from southbound Leland should yield to me when I am already in the roundabout. Consistently, they do not. They treat my action as a standard left turn, where I need to yield to them.Is there an exception to the general roundabout yield rule?Jill McCoy, San JoseA: Cars in the roundabout have the right-of-way.Q: I live within a block of a school and have the following thoughts to share:1. Some parents will not allow their kids to walk five feet to school, let alone one block.2. A one-block-away, kid-drop-off point creates chaos in a nearby residential neighborhood. There is usually only one “ideal” remote drop-off point and mass chaos occurs there.3. The afternoon pickup is worse. Pa...
