Rockies’ Kris Bryant “frustrated” by injuries but he ignores critics

Published Tue, 04 Mar 2025 05:15:34 GMT

Kris Bryant admits he’s frustrated by his injuries. But the Rockies’ high-priced outfielder said he’s doing his best to tune out criticism about his inability to stay on the field.Since signing a seven-year, $182 million contract in mid-March of 2022, Bryant has spent more time in the training room than on the playing field. With Bryant on the roster, the Rockies had played 229 games entering Monday night’s game at Boston. Bryant, 31, had played in 92 of those (40%).A back injury, followed by plantar fasciitis and a heel bruise in his left foot, limited him to 42 games last season. He played in 50 of Colorado’s first 67 games this season but has been on the injured list since May 31 with what the club says is a left-heel bruise.Bryant, however, said Sunday that the plantar fasciitis still “comes and goes.”“Definitely, it’s frustrating, for sure, when you want things to feel one way, but they don’t,” he said. “I’m keeping a ...

Analysis: What to know about GOP claims of Biden scandal

Published Tue, 04 Mar 2025 05:15:34 GMT

By Zachary B. Wolf | CNNDefenders of former President Donald Trump have responded to news of his indictment by the US Department of Justice with deflection: Why is Trump being charged but not President Joe Biden’s son Hunter?“The two standards of justice under Biden’s DOJ is appalling. When will Hunter Biden be charged?” tweeted Rep. Steve Daines of Montana, who has already endorsed Trump’s 2024 campaign and who is in charge of coordinating Republicans’ strategy for keeping control of the House of Representatives. The facts, however, are much less clear.Fueling Republicans’ frustration this week is a standoff on Capitol Hill over a document detailing an interview conducted years ago based on a tip given to the DOJ by former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani.Giuliani, you might recall, had been tasked with digging up dirt on the Bidens. The party’s broader future could now hinge on what happens next in south Florida -– but for a very different reason.Trump, the former president who is again the front-runner for the 2024 GOP nomination, will make his first appearance in federal court Tuesday in Miami, where he faces 37 felony counts related to charges of illegal retention of classified information. The charges have propelled Miami into the center of a storyline that, until recently, was largely thought to be unfolding in a grand jury room in Washington. And it has brought to the forefront T...
